What the JWCW means in their own words...
In 1987 I was stay at home mom of two toddler boys looking to meet people and do something good in the community. Growing up my mother belonged to GFWC clubs and I realized there was not one in Walpole. She put me in contact with the correct people and The Junior Woman’s Club of Walpole was founded. I am still an active member and have met many great women, made lifelong friends, and together we have helped many people and accomplished many great things in Walpole and the surrounding community! - Nancy, 1988 (Founding Member) |
I joined the JWCW 10 years ago at a time when my daughter had become more self-sufficient and I found I had a lot more time on my hands. While the JWCW provided me with the opportunity to give back, it has also enriched my own life by providing me with an alliance of supportive & heartfelt women who want to collaborate & work together as one to implement positive changes in both our community and in each other’s lives. - Sheila, 2009 |
As a relatively new resident of Walpole, I joined the JWCW to meet people and get involved with the community. I was a little nervous before attending my first meeting, but I needn't have worried - this is such a wonderful group of women! They are warm, funny, and enthusiastic. I was welcomed immediately, and have made friendships I know will endure. Seeing how this group cares so passionately about giving back to the community, and having fun while doing so, has been phenomenal. I am so glad I joined the JWCW, and can't imagine not having it in my life! - Catherine, 2018 |
My wonderful sister-in-law invited me to a JWCW meeting in the fall of 2002. I joined that night and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! Through this club, I have had the opportunity to learn so much about giving back, helping those in need, and while doing so, forge life-long friendships. I was new to town and it was so wonderful to meet women of all ages, from different backgrounds and walks of life, and come together for one cause: to help our community, families, and friends when they most need it. I have been honored to serve on board at both the club level and state level. Through the many fund raisers the club holds, we are able to help so many. And, while our focus is on our local community, we are also able to reach out to other clubs in the state and across the country to help them as well. This experience continues to excite and influence me in the most positive way. - Kathleen, 2002 |
I was in search of a place to connect with the community and meeting other like-minded women and found that and more through my membership with the JWCW. Not only have I found a place to give back, but I found myself on the receiving end of friendship, laugher, and love beyond what I could’ve imagined when I first joined. This became especially important to me through some of the tumultuous times in my life. I am eternally grateful for our sisterhood. - Kathy, 2012 |
Giving back to my community has always been of interest and a priority for me. When my children were young, I was involved in their schools and Mom's Club. As they got older, I found myself looking for ways to give back on a larger scale. A friend suggested the JWCW. |
